Boxy Summer Top Workshop

Create a modern, relaxed summer top while building the confidence to sew garments from a commercial sewing pattern.

In this workshop, you’ll learn the fundamentals of garment construction as we create a versatile boxy top with a relaxed drop shoulder. Along the way, we’ll cover pattern reading, fabric layout, and sewing techniques that you can apply to future apparel projects.

Learning Focus

This workshop focuses on creating a beautifully finished bias-bound neckline, an essential technique you’ll use again and again in garment sewing.

 

Skill Level

Beginner

Perfect for students who have completed Sewing 101 or have basic sewing machine experience.

You should feel comfortable:

  • Operating a sewing machine independently
  • Sewing straight seams
  • Winding a bobbin and threading your machine

 

Supplies

Please bring:

  • 2 yards of lightweight woven fabric (linen, cotton, chambray, double gauze, rayon linen, or an upcycled flat sheet all work beautifully)
  • Sewing machine (or reserve one of ours for $10)

Need fabric? We’ll have a curated selection available for purchase at the studio.
