Denim Revival: Alter, Hem & Rework Your Jeans
Your denim, reimagined.
This workshop is designed to help you transform and customize the jeans you already own. Whether they’re too long, out of style, or no longer fitting quite right, you’ll learn how to alter and rework them into something you’ll actually wear again.
From simple hems to full transformations, this class blends practical skills with creative freedom.
Some ideas we can cover...
- Hemming jeans (original hem + clean finish options)
- Cutting jeans into shorts (and how to finish them properly)
- Turning jeans into a skirt
- Converting skinny jeans into a flared leg
- Adjusting fit and reshaping silhouettes
- Working with thick seams and denim layers
Details
- Duration: 2–2.5 hours
- Level: Beginner to intermediate (must be comfortable using a sewing machine)
- Location: Bloom House Collective, 2795 Park St. Jax., 32205
- Class Size: Small group for personalized guidance
What to Bring
- 1–2 pairs of jeans (or denim pieces you’d like to alter)

Project Flow
We’ll begin with a quick demo of key techniques, then you’ll move into your own project with guidance along the way. You can choose a simple alteration or a more creative transformation depending on your comfort level.
A Note
This is a skill-building class—you’ll leave with techniques you can apply to your entire wardrobe. If your project isn’t finished during class, you’ll have the knowledge to complete it at home or during Open Studio.
